With just the base map, the car felt awesome and brought a smile to my face! After the data logging and back-and-forths, the map was locked down by Revision 5 within a few days. I paid thru their website and received a base map the next day. I ended up making the payment right after the call, although I was originally planning on noodling over all the info from the call for a few days before pulling the trigger. Very easy to talk to and came across as a really nice guy. At the end of the call, I ask for his name and guess what, it was Bren himself! Finally ended the conversation after all my questions were answered and I think to myself – this is really not the guy that I had pictured in my mind based on the reviews (and some of his posts on these forums). ![]() Called them up and the tuner was very good at addressing my questions and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Started the process by trading emails with their sales team, and eventually decided to discuss on the phone (reliability is of utmost importance to me since I plan on keeping this car for a long time, so wanted to chat with them on the phone as well). It was a tough decision for me to choose the tuner, but eventually decided to go with Bren – mainly since Bren is a NASIOC supporter (and the other tuner is not), and to me supporters are an important reason these forums can exist so we can have these conversations. Bren seems to have a ton of positive reviews, with a handful of strong negative ones as well. So I started exploring an e-tune and after reading numerous reviews on this forum, it was between Bren and another tuner that is also highly regarded. With the OTS tunes, I also missed the low-end punch vs the stock tune. Honestly, I really could not tell the difference between the two. It was particularly strange to me that most feedback on these forums rave about how the MAP tune is significantly better than Cobb’s. ![]() ![]() I had tried both Cobb and MAP OTS tunes, and while they vastly improved drivability, I did not ‘feel’ any of the power gains they advertise. Recently did a Stage 1 (completely stock hardware) tune with Bren Tuning.
